YOUR LIFE. YOUR WAY.
Willows Bellingham - A LifeMinded Residence: Living Engaged In Bellingham, WA
PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
The Willows is different because our people are different. We think differently, we approach senior living differently, and you’ll see the results the moment you walk in the door. Here, you can have independence without loneliness. We invite you to come visit and meet some of the people who make this such a unique place to live. Until then, click the link below for a virtual introduction.
ACTIVITIES THAT ENGAGE
We believe life is better when you connect to things that feed your mind, heart, and spirit— and we provide activities that make it easy. For an introduction to some of our more popular activities, click the link below.
The Willows is an independent-living community for LifeMinded seniors. And our goal is to help you maintain your independence for life. Should you need assisted living services as part of your daily routine, accessing it is easy through our partners. Get support for grooming, laundry, medication reminders, and other assisted living services. Learn more here.
Living here is easy. Moving in can be, too. Our relocation coordinator will help make the process as pain-free as possible by coordinating everything from the mover to the cable technician. Many of our residents also benefit from on-site personal assistant services provided by our trusted partners “Right At Home”. Learn more about these services on our Partners page.
Service all day, every day.
Your life doesn’t stop on the weekends, and neither do we. A manager is always available. So if you have an important question or issue on a weekend, you won’t get a “we’ll get back to you.” Someone with authority will handle it immediately.
There’s always a familiar face at the front desk, ready with a warm welcome and connection to any personal assistance you might need.
Catch a free ride on one of our two air-conditioned motor coaches to shopping, special events, banking, postal facilities, medical appointments and more.
Your table is ready. Connect with friends in our restaurant-style dining room over an ever-changing menu from Chef Jim. Our flexible dining plan lets you enjoy lunch or dinner every day at the time of your choosing, so you can tailor meals to fit your life. Read more about our dining plan on our FAQ page.
We offer complimentary room service so you can enjoy the wonderful food The Willows has to offer, and maintain proper nutrition for a robust immune system.
Rain or shine, we provide this no-charge service for our residents and their guests. (We also have plenty of free parking for those who prefer to park their car themselves.)
GUEST APARTMENTS AND EVENT ROOMS*
Host a friend or family member overnight. Or hold a special, invitation-only dinner in a private room. Our on-site accommodations enable you to extend a welcome well beyond the walls of your apartment. Catering is also available—in your home or in our event rooms—for your on-site meetings, gathering and events.
SAFETY & SECURITY
We designed The Willows with your safety in mind. That’s why our building is staffed round the clock and includes a 24-hour security and emergency response system.
Staffed and managed by residents, the boutique is a convenient place to purchase essential items as well as arts and craft created by residents and staff.
Nurture your body and spirit with massage.
Looking good feels good. Manicures, pedicures and hair styling, all just steps from home.
FARM TO PATIO. EVERY WEEK.
Our farmers market is just another reason why living here is a breath of fresh air.
At The Willows we value nutrition and local sourcing as key components to aging well. We make that easy by teaming with Cascade Blueberry Farm to host a weekly outdoor farm stand during the Summer and early Fall months.
At once spiritual and physical, this centuries-old practice improves balance and flexibility as it teaches mindful breathing.
Part treasure hunt, part outdoor adventure, geocaching invites players to search for hidden objects using GPS devices and smartphones.
Lively discussions in response to the popular online video series. Discuss current events, science, politics and more.
There’s no funnier way to keep your mind sharp, your reflexes quick, and your creativity stoked while getting a big dose of the proverbial best medicine.
Creative writing. Watercolor painting. Pottery. And much more. Master or novice, there’s an opportunity here for you.
Take advantage of classes from Western Washington University’s Academy for Lifelong Learning. Dig into such wide-ranging subjects as human evolution, comparative religion, history, and much more.
Book-lovers unite! Join other avid readers in spirited literary conversation and see some of your favorite writers read their work in person.
In addition to our weekly shuttle to religious services, we offer on-site Bible study, Communion, and more—including a group for people who check “none” when asked about their religious preference.
Bring your favorite beverage and connect with your neighbors at our weekly Friday “happy hour.”
Enjoy fresh air, scenery and chatting with friends as you get your heart pumping. Our residents enjoy private, direct and secure access to the East Bank Bike Path.
CONCERTS, OPERA & THEATER*
Indulge your love of culture with world-class performances of new works and beloved classics.
From hotcakes at IHOP to Bellingham’s most buzzed-about hotspots, we regularly head out on culinary adventures that span the gastronomic spectrum.

DAILY EXERCISE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A STRETCH.
We make daily exercise easy and convenient.
DISCOVERIES. SERVED FRESH DAILY.
Experience life well beyond the ordinary. Guided by residents’ suggestions and our LifeMinded approach, we assemble a full and varied monthly calendar of events, classes, groups, and outings. If it’s fun, engaging and creates connection—and if it’s more interesting than typical “senior programming”— chances are it’s on our to-do list.
